We Were There: Reflections on the SovAI Summit 2026
April20–21, 2026 | National Palace, San Salvador, El Salvador

There are events you attend. And then thereare events that stay with you.

The SovAI Summit 2026 at the National Palace in San Salvador was the second kind.

As a team, we've been fortunate to witness a lot of what makes El Salvador special. The energy on the beach in El Zonte, the curiosity of people using Bitcoin for the first time, the quietpride of a country writing its own story. But walking into the National Palace for two full days of conversations about Artificial Intelligence and SovereignAbundance? That was something different altogether.

The Building Said Everything Before Anyone Did

Before a single panel began, the venuemade a statement.

The National Palace is history madephysical. The detail in the architecture, the care in the decoration, theweight of what that building represents, it doesn't let you think small. Andthat, we believe, was entirely intentional. Hosting an event about the futureof technology and national sovereignty inside one of the most storied buildings in he country isn't just logistical. It's symbolic. The symbolism isthe message.

El Salvador is not waiting. It ispositioning.

The People Who Filled the Room

What struck us most wasn't the agenda. It was the mix of people inside.

Ambassadors. Military officials. CEOs.Thought leaders from around the world. Independent builders who leftcomfortable lives elsewhere because they felt the pull of something being builthere. And alongside all of them, everyday Salvadorans. Young people. Some ofthem stepping inside the National Palace for the very first time in theirlives.

That last part is the one we keep comingback to.

Watching someone realize they are livingthrough a pivotal moment in their country's history  and that they are not just a spectator but aparticipant, that is really hard to describe. But we saw it happen, more thanonce, across those two days. And it gave us more conviction in the directionthis country is heading than any speech or headline ever could.

The Signal Is Getting Clearer

El Salvador made history when it embracedBitcoin. But what is unfolding now goes deeper.

A government actively investing in itspeople's future. A country attracting top global talent not despite itscircumstances but because of its vision. A summit inside a nationallandmark dedicated to exploring how a small nation can lead the world in thedigital revolution.

This isn't a country reacting to thefuture. It is one of the few places on earth actively building it.

The Bitcoin Diploma initiative, theconversations about Sovereign AI, the builders on the ground turning ideas intoinfrastructure, these are not experiments. They are REAL blueprints. And ElSalvador, it increasingly seems, is where those blueprints are being drawn.

WhatWe're Taking Home

We came to the SovAI Summit as theBitcoin Beach & Goodlife team. People who believe deeply in what grassrootsBitcoin adoption can do for real communities. We left reminded of somethingimportant.

The small things and the big things areconnected.

The person using Bitcoin for the firsttime on the beach in El Zonte and the policy maker shaping national strategyinside the National Palace, they are part of the same story. A story aboutsovereignty. About what it means for a country, and for an individual, to takecontrol of their own future.

El Salvador is writing that story in realtime. And we are so grateful, every single day, to have a small part in it.
